Toyota Safety Sense Helps Keep Driver and Passengers Out of Harms Way
Beyond the bells and whistles, the performance, design, or level of comfort in a car, the highest priority of the driver and passengers is to remain safe. Likewise, it is Toyota’s highest priority to design their vehicles to keep their customers safe as well. As a result, Toyota offers Toyota Safety Sense™, which incorporates a variety of systems to keep you and pedestrians safer so you can drive with complete peace of mind. This is just another way that Toyota sets itself apart from the competition. If you are looking to realize the benefits of owning a Toyota, come visit Hendrick Concord Toyota’s friendly staff and check out our large inventory of new and used Toyota vehicles!
Toyota Safety Sense is Thorough in its Protection of its Passengers
Toyota Safety Sense includes a variety of innovative systems to prevent accidents from happening, as well as minimize damage if a collision is unavoidable. One such system is the Pre-Collision System, which utilizes an in-vehicle camera and laser to sense cars ahead of you. If the Pre-Collision System determines that a front collision is likely, it provides audio and visual alerts to the driver to brake. If the driver begins to brake, the vehicle will employ Brake Assist to give further stopping force. If the driver does not brake, the system may automatically apply the brakes and reduce the impact of the crash or avoid the collision entirely. Lane Departure Alert is another system in the Toyota Safety Sense package. This feature will detect when your car drifts from its lane and provide audio/visual alerts to the drive. If your vehicle also has Electronic Power Steering and a Steering Assist function, your car may provide small corrective steering to the steering wheel for a short period of time to keep you on track. Furthermore, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control adds a twist to the traditional cruise control function – it will maintain a preset distance to a preceding vehicle and apply the brakes if you gain ground on it. What’s more, it will automatically accelerate back to your preferred set speed once the traffic ahead speeds up too. Finally, Automatic High Beams detect headlights of oncoming vehicles along with the taillights of preceding vehicles so you don’t blind other drivers as your car switches seamlessly between high and low beams to better illuminate your path at night. These invaluable technologies will not only protect you, but will make owning a Toyota that much more satisfying.
